Jerry Jao focuses on the area of Software and Technology. With over 15 years of operating experience, Jerry is a CEO, board member, angel investor and an LP in several investment funds in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Jerry is currently the CEO of Retention Science, an AI-powered, Business-to-Consumer marketing software which Jerry founded in 2013. Prior to Retention Science, Jerry worked on the launch of iHeartRadio for Clear Channel Radio, founded two other software companies and describes himself as “an entrepreneur and operator first”.
Jerry partners closely with Corbel's CEOs and senior management team to tackle go-to-market, strategic and people challenges in scaling a business. Through his work, Jerry has become an expert on go-to-market strategy for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies, with particular insight into product management, UI/UX and machine learning technologies. Retention Science was named Inc. 1000 Fastest Growing Companies two years in a row before being acquired by Constant Contact in 2020. As the leader in digital marketing software with an annual revenue of over $450M worldwide, Jerry also serves as a GM and Senior Vice President for Constant Contact, owning product innovation and P&L responsibilities for the business. Jerry was named one of the most inspirational founders in 2019 by Inc. Magazine, and has been a frequent columnist for Forbes and Inc.com. Jerry is a graduate of Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley where he was awarded with the highest honor of full-tuition scholarship as an Alumni Scholar.
