Tom Thompston serves as a Senior Operating Advisor to Corbel focused on sourcing and executing distressed and special situation investments

Tom brings more than 25 years of restructuring and turnaround experience working closely with both secured and unsecured lenders, unsecured creditor committees, equity holders and debtors in distressed situations. Tom has negotiated multiple successful restructurings and liquidity management engagements resulting in optimized capital structures, operational and reporting improvements and inter-creditor settlements. Tom has also testified as an expert witness in several courts across the country and has served on the boards of several companies representing creditors that have converted into equity. Former board of director memberships include: Zemex Minerals, Inc. (mining); General Chemical Industrial Products, Inc. (soda ash mining); American Restaurant Group, Inc. (steak house chain); Milacron Inc. (manufacturing) and Bayou Steel Corporation (mini-mill steel manufacturing). Prior to Corbel, Tom was a Managing Director with Focus Management Group and Seaport Global Securities LLC.

Tom received a BA in English and Business/Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
